ESPN College GameDay is headed to KU’s Lawrence campus for the first time in football
ESPN College GameDay is coming to the campus of the University of Kansas for Saturday’s Big 12 football game between KU and TCU, it was announced Saturday night.
The show has been to the KU campus for basketball games, but this marks the GameDay’s crew’s first appearance in Lawrence for a football game in the show’s 36 years of existence.
“GET READY, LAWRENCE! We’re coming to KU for the first time EVER,” read a post on College GameDay’s Twitter account. “A battle of the unbeatens: TCU vs. KU.”
The Jayhawks (5-0, 2-0 Big 12) and Horned Frogs (4-0, 1-0) will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at Booth Memorial Stadium. The game will be shown on FS1.
TCU pounded Oklahoma 55-24 on Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas. Kansas enters Saturday’s matchup following back-to-back home wins against Duke (35-27) and Iowa State (14-11).
TCU leads the all-time series against KU, 25-9-4. Tickets remained available for next weekend’s game as of late Saturday evening, but both this weekend’s game and last weekend’s game were sellouts.
The basketball GameDay show has broadcast from Lawrence several times. The show has aired from Allen Fieldhouse.
