Future Kansas Jayhawks Ernest Udeh, Gradey Dick square off in McDonald’s All-American game

Future University of Kansas basketball guard Gradey Dick scored three points on 1-of-7 shooting in the West team’s 105-81 loss to the East in Tuesday’s McDonald’s All-American Boys basketball game in Chicago.

Dick, a 6-7 guard from Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas, was 1-of-4 from three. Dick, Gatorade’s national player of the year, had four rebounds and two steals in 19 minutes.

Future KU forward Ernest Udeh, 6-10 from Dr. Phillips High in Orlando, Florida, scored five points on 2-of-3 shooting for the winning East team.

He was 1-of-6 from the free throw line. Udeh, who played 18 minutes, grabbed five rebounds and had an assist and steal.

Mark Mitchell, a 6-8 forward from Sunrise Christian Academy, who is headed to Duke, scored 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting while playing 23 minutes for the West. Cam Whitmore, a 6-6 forward from Archbishop Spalding High in Severn, Maryland, had 19 points for the East. He’s headed to Villanova.

Future KU player MJ Rice, a McDonald’s All-American, traveled to Chicago for the event but did not play in the game. According to 247sports.com, Rice has a minor knee injury.
