Kansas women easily handle Arizona 75-51

Jessica Washington scored 16 points and McKenzie Calvert had 14 points to lead the Kansas women’s basketball team past Arizona 75-51 on Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse.

Kansas (5-5) never trailed Arizona (7-2) after the game’s first three minutes.

Washington made 6 of 11 shots and added five rebounds and five assists.

A three-pointer by Calvert and consecutive baskets by Aisia Robertson gave KU a 16-6 lead with 1:29 to play in the first quarter. Arizona cut the lead to seven midway through the second quarter, but Kansas scored eight straight points to build a comfortable lead.

Kansas concludes its non-conference schedule with a Wednesday home game against UC Riverside. The Jayhawks being Big 12 games Dec. 29 at home against Oklahoma.
