Harris hits threes
If there was one positive for Kansas State to take away from its loss it was that freshman guard Tre Harris scored nine points, all on three-pointers.
Harris looked like a potential contributor at the season’s outset, hitting threes in nonconference games and playing solid defense. But he fell out of K-State’s rotation once conference play began.
“Tre made some shots and you have got to feel good about them,” Weber said. “That gives him a chance, because he is magical with that three-point shot. He has got to get better at defense and some other things but he got us back in the game.”
Downer ending
It is rare that Texas Tech gets to empty its bench at the end of a blowout victory, and Weber did not want that to happen on Wednesday. It didn’t look like it would when K-State pulled to within 45-44 in the final eight minutes. But Texas Tech responded with a 19-3 run to pull away.
“You have one chance to win when you are coming back in a game like that,” Weber said. “We didn’t take advantage.”
