Kansas State is well represented on the preseason All-Big 12 team.

The Wildcats placed five players on the squad. Defensive linemen Will Geary and Jordan Willis earned defensive honors, along with linebacker Elijah Lee and defensive back Dante Barnett. On offense, fullback Winston Dimel was the lone selection.

Media representatives who cover the league selected the team. It was announced Wednesday morning.

K-State had the second most players on the All-Big 12 team behind Oklahoma, which had nine. Texas ranked third with four, Oklahoma State and TCU had three, while Baylor, Iowa State and West Virginia all had two. Texas Tech produced one all-conference selection. No Kansas players made the cut.

The Wildcats last produced five preseason all-conference players in 2013.

The Big 12 also announced individual preseason awards on Wednesday, leading up to the league’s media days next week in Dallas.

Not surprisingly, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield was named preseason Offensive Player of the Year. Texas linebacker Malik Jefferson was named preseason Defensive Player of the Year. TCU quarterback Kenny Hill, a Texas A&M transfer, was named preseason Newcomer of the Year.
