Kansas State will play football games against Colorado and Washington State in future seasons, athletic director John Currie announced in a letter to fans Thursday.

The Wildcats will face former Big 12 rival Colorado on the road in 2027 and at home the following year. They will also host Washington State in 2026, with a road game scheduled against the Cougars for 2029.

The addition of two home-and-home series against Pac-12 foes gives K-State a nonconference game against a power-league opponent in 12 of the next 14 seasons. The Wildcats also have future games scheduled against Stanford (2016, 2021), Vanderbilt (2017, 2020), Mississippi State (2018, 2019) and Arizona (2024, 2025). No marquee out-of-conference opponent is scheduled in 2022 or 2023, but K-State is working to find one.

Big 12 teams are required to schedule at least one nonconference game against a power-conference team each year.

K-State also announced a pair of future home games against Presbyterian in 2019 and Abilene Christian in 2022.

The Wildcats open the 2016 season at Stanford, followed by home games against Florida Atlantic and Missouri State.
