Bramlage Coliseum will host its most anticipated women’s basketball game in years next season when Kansas State takes on defending national champion Connecticut.

Opening tip is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Dec. 11, a Sunday.

“It’s great to get this game finalized for our fans and to bring this game to Manhattan,” K-State coach Jeff Mittie said Wednesday in a statement. “We will begin a huge season ticket push this summer and this game will be one of the many highlights of our home schedule.”

The game will conclude a home-and-home series between the teams. Connecticut beat K-State 97-57 at XL Center in Hartford, Conn. last season. The Huskies went on to go undefeated and win the national championship, their fourth straight and 11th overall.

K-State advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, finishing with a record of 19-13.

Tickets for the Connecticut game are not currently on sale. Fans can purchase season tickets beginning on June 8.
