Kansas State football lands first 2017 commit in Shawnee Heights' Wyatt Hubert
The Kansas State football team picked up its first commitment for 2017 on Monday when Shawnee Heights junior Wyatt Hubert orally committed to the Wildcats.
Hubert, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound athlete who plays tight end and defensive end, announced the commitment on Twitter following a visit to Manhattan over the weekend. K-State offered him a scholarship on Saturday while he attended the team’s junior day camp.

The Wildcats also offered scholarships to Pittsburg tight end Trevor Kent and Hutchinson offensive lineman Josh Rivas at their junior day.
K-State announced its 2016 recruiting class on Wednesday, but has wasted little time planning for the future.
The past few days have been good to the Wildcats on the recruiting front. They also added defensive back D.J. Reed to its 2016 class. Reed took an official visit to K-State over the weekend, too. He comes to Manhattan from Cerritos College in Bakersfield, Calif. Reed started his college career at Fresno State and will have three years of eligibility with K-State.
