A rare change

Kansas State made the first change to its starting lineup on Wednesday, replacing Kamau Stokes with Carlbe Ervin at point guard.

The move seemed to spark the offense initially, and Stokes as the game went on.

Stokes led K-State with 20 points and hit a pair of key free throws to force overtime.

Equipment mix-up

K-State forward D.J. Johnson usually wears No. 4, but he took the court against Baylor on Wednesday with the No. 21 on his chest.

The switch seemed to boost his game, particularly in the first half when he muscled past defenders for difficult layups on his way to seven points, but he is likely to go back to his standard number in K-State’s next game.

The switch was made because of an equipment error, K-State officials said. The team left his usual jersey at home on accident.
