D.J. Johnson hurt

K-State forward D.J. Johnson was limited to eight minutes during the Wildcats’ 83-58 victory against Coppin State on Wednesday with an injured thumb.

Johnson banged his hand awkwardly in the first half and requested out of the game. He briefly came back in during the second half, but Bruce Weber decided to take him out for precautionary reasons. Weber hopes Johnson will be ready Saturday.

Looking ahead

Wesley Iwundu is already looking ahead to K-State’s trip to Texas A&M. A Houston native, this is the closest he has played to home since enrolling in college.

“This is going to a big one for me,” Iwundu said. “I’m going to go into it prepared.”

Iwundu said he expects as many as 50 friends and family to be in attendance at Texas A&M.
