Sponsorship logos will soon appear on Kansas State’s football field inside Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

K-State AD Gene Taylor said in an exclusive interview Wednesday that the Wildcats are close to finalizing a sponsorship agreement that will bring a new look to the school’s football field and add a “pretty good chunk of change” to the school’s athletic budget.

“Hopefully that will be done soon,” Taylor said. “It’s close enough that we are starting to talk about field logos.”

Taylor said the sponsorship deal is being negotiated by K-State’s sports marketing partner Learfield. He did not speculate on who the sponsorship partner might be.

If the deal reaches the finish line, this field logo will be in addition to the sponsorship agreement that the Big 12 announced with Monster Energy for all of its basketball and football teams earlier this week.

Both deals are expected to begin this season.

As part of the Monster Energy arrangement, every Big 12 team will wear Monster logo patches on their jerseys and display the Monster logo on their courts and fields along with the conference logo. That deal is reportedly worth $20 million annually for the league.

Elsewhere in the Big 12, Kansas and Oklahoma State have already announced their own jersey patch sponsorships.

Taylor said K-State is also looking into adding another logo patch to its football jerseys, but nothing is imminent on that front.

“We have discussed the patch with a couple of companies,” Taylor said. “We are kind of starting to focus a little bit more on local companies, because of the ability for them to be able to keep that patch on there as you go through the College Football Playoff or the NCAA Tournament.

“We’ve got some folks that have interest in it right now. Whether we can pull it off before the season starts, we’ll see.”
