  • Kansas State added Matt Gilhool from LSU as its sixth transfer in the cycle.
  • Gilhool is a 6-foot-11 former four-star recruit who redshirted at LSU.
  • K-State’s roster now lists nine players for 2026-27 with six roster slots remaining.

Casey Alexander’s busy week in the transfer portal continues to yield results for Kansas State.

The Wildcats landed their sixth and seventh incoming transfers of this cycle on Tuesday when Matt Gilhool announced his intentions to play at Bramlage Coliseum next season and Isaiah Abraham quickly did the same.

Gilhool is a 6-foot-11 big man who spent his freshman season on the sideline with a redshirt at LSU. He didn’t see any action with the Tigers and will now look for a fresh start with the Wildcats.

Despite his lack of college basketball experience, Gilhool brings potential to Manhattan, as he is a former four-star recruit out of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.

Gilhool held scholarship offers from Georgia Tech, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland, Miami, Mississippi State, Penn State, Rutgers, Virginia Tech and Washington coming out of high school. He averaged 16 points and nine rebounds as a senior.

Alexander will look to tap into the talent that recruiters saw in him two years ago.

Abraham is a 6-foot-7 wing who averaged 4.8 points and 2.9 rebounds while starting 31 games for Georgetown last season.

He originally began his college basketball career at Connecticut. K-State will be his third school. He is expected to have two years of eligibility remaining. Like Gilhool, he is also a former four-star recruit.

This addition gives K-State 10 players for the 2026-27 season. Alexander has six roster slots remaining.
