Kansas State’s leading scorer from last season has found a new college basketball home.

Guard PJ Haggerty has announced that he will transfer to Texas A&M and finish his college career in the SEC.

Haggerty averaged 23.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists during his lone season with the Wildcats. He was one of the nation’s leading scorers as a junior at Bramlage Coliseum. His best games included 37 points against Mississippi State and 34 points against both Baylor and Utah.

Those numbers allowed him to earn honorable-mention honors from the Big 12.

Haggerty decided to transfer and continue his college basketball career elsewhere after the Wildcats struggled through a 20-loss season and former head coach Jerome Tang was fired.

His move to Texas A&M will allow him to play in his home state as a senior.

Haggerty has previously played for TCU, Tulsa and Memphis. This will be his fifth school in five seasons of college hoops. He averaged more than 20 points in each of the past three seasons while playing for three different teams.

He will look to continue that streak, and hope for more team success, with the Aggies.
