Skylar Thompson was reportedly the victim of a scary incident before the Pittsburgh Steelers played the Minnesota Vikings in an international NFL game Sunday in Dublin.

Thompson, who used to play quarterback for the Kansas State Wildcats and now serves as a backup for the Steelers, was “jumped and robbed” on the streets of Dublin on Friday night according to a report from Tom Pelissero.

Pelissero reported that Thompson suffered minor injuries during the altercation. But he remained with the team over the weekend.

“We are aware of a situation involving Skylar Thompson on Friday night in Dublin,” Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten said in a statement. “We will have no further comment at this time as we are working with NFL security to gather more information regarding the incident.”

Thompson has been in the NFL since he was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

This is his first season with the Steelers. He is currently on injured reserve.

At K-State, Thompson threw for 7,134 yards. That number ranks second all-time in program passing yards.
