Pop Tarts Bowl to send edible mascots overseas for K-State, Iowa State in Ireland

Kansas State and Iowa State have both celebrated memorable football victories at the Pop Tarts Bowl in recent years, but the biggest winner of those games was arguably the edible mascot that entertained fans with never-before-seen antics in Orlando.

For those who are unfamiliar: A life-size Pop-Tarts mascot paraded around the field during the games and then descended into a toaster after the fourth quarter. A giant, edible Pop Tart then emerged for coaches and players to devour.

Quarterback Avery Johnson won MVP honors when he led K-State to a thrilling victory over North Carolina State in 2023, but the real star was the mascot. Iowa State outlasted Miami in last year’s bowl game, but it was a similar story afterward.

With that in mind, the Pop Tarts Bowl has decided to send two more of its edible mascots to Dublin, Ireland next month when K-State and Iowa State take their Farmageddon rivalry overseas for a much-anticipated game at the beginning of the 2025 season.

The mascots will have the following flavors: frosted wild berry and frosted hot fudge sundae.

“Fans won’t have to wait untl bowl season to get a taste of their favorite edible mascots,” the Pop-Tarts Bowl shared in a statement, “because Pop Tarts is now an official partner of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic ... Get your toasters ready and catch all the crazy good action.”

Kansas State and Iowa State will meet at 11 a.m. on Aug. 23 in Ireland. The game can be watched on ESPN.

There will be plenty of mascots to entertain the audience.
