Kansas State women’s basketball star Serena Sundell selected in WNBA Draft

Now that her memorable college basketball run is over, it’s time for Kansas State guard Serena Sundell to focus on a professional career.

She is off to a good start, as she already has a home at the next level.

The Seattle Storm selected Sundell in the third round of the WNBA Draft in New York on Monday. She was the 26th overall pick of the night.

It was an exciting moment for Sundell, who finished her college career as the all-time assists leader at Kansas State. She averaged 14.1 points and 7.3 assists as a senior while she led the Wildcats to their first Sweet 16 appearance in more than two decades.

Sundell is originally from Maryville. She joined K-State in 2021 and started a program-record 139 games during her time in Manhattan.
