Kansas State QB Avery Johnson gets his own strawberry lemonade drink in new NIL deal

There is a new beverage on the market that Kansas State football fans and lemonade enthusiasts alike may want to sample this week.

K-State quarterback Avery Johnson has partnered with Bev-Hub, a Manhattan-based drink manufacturer, to create his very own strawberry lemonade.

“The Avery Johnson Strawberry Lemonade” is described as an “electrifying, thirst-quenching, low-calorie, low-sugar” alternative to soft drinks. Both Johnson and his logo will be displayed prominently on the can.

The drink will hit store shelves at the Hy-Vee grocery store in Manhattan on Tuesday. It will be available at other stores in town and across the Sunflower State shortly thereafter.

“This is an exciting opportunity for me,” Johnson said in a statement. “It wasn’t long ago that I was a young athlete in Wichita, Kansas with big dreams. To have the opportunity to create my own personally branded soft drink is really special, and I hope it can serve as an example to young athletes across Kansas and beyond that dreams can absolutely become reality.”

Wildcat NIL helped Johnson and Bev-Hub make the new drink a reality.

“This unique partnership is a great example of the type of opportunity we seek to create for our student-athletes,” Managing member of Wildcat NIL Curry Sexton said. “While this partnership creates an exciting opportunity for Avery, it demonstrates to our other student-athletes and prospective student-athletes the array of NIL opportunities that are possible at K-State. We are excited to bring this drink to our great fans and to fans of Avery Johnson.”

Johnson is a junior quarterback who led the Wildcats to nine victories last season by throwing for 2,712 yards and 25 touchdowns.

He is expected to be one of the best returning passers in the Big 12 next season.

Fun and lucrative NIL deals are nothing new for him. Last year, he received a lavender Corvette from a local car dealership.

Now he will have his own strawberry lemonade to keep in his cup holder and sip on while he is driving around town.
