K-State Wildcats, KU Jayhawks will both play extra Friday football games next season
The Big 12 has announced that both Kansas and K-State will play more midweek football games than originally expected next season.
One change will happen early.
K-State’s non-conference road trip to Arizona has been moved to Sept. 12. That means the battle of the Wildcats will take place on a Friday for the second straight year, as their previously scheduled home-and-home series (that doesn’t count in the league standings) shifts to Tucson.
The other change will happen at the end of the regular season.
Kansas will host Utah in Lawrence on Black Friday, which falls on Nov. 28. That means the Jayhawks will play two games on Friday next season. They will also take on Wagner at home on Aug. 29, less than a week after they open the season against Fresno State.
Kickoff times and TV information will be announced at a later date.
