Chris Klieman announces multiple promotions to Kansas State football coaching staff
Chris Klieman continues to make changes to the Kansas State football coaching staff.
The Wildcats announced four promotions for staffers on Tuesday.
Those changes come after Matts Wells was promoted to offensive coordinator, Brian Lepak switched to offensive line coach and Luke Wells was hired to coach tight ends.
Here is a rundown of the latest promotions:
- Nate Kaczor is now special teams coordinator and special assistant to the head coach
- Matt Kardulis is now the assistant safeties coach
- Sean Maguire is now the assistant quarterbacks coach
- David Orloff is now the outside linebackers coach
Drew Liddle also previously earned a promotion to assistant offensive line coach.
“Each of these coaches provides tremendous value to our staff,” Klieman said in a statement, “and we have been fortunate to add a secondary assistant at numerous positions. They provide great support not only on the field, but they serve important functions in recruiting as well.”
Klieman had to reevaluate his coaching staff after Conor Riley left his position as offensive coordinator to take a job with the Dallas Cowboys.
Kaczor is in his second season at K-State after serving as the special teams quality control coach last year. He came to the Wildcats after spending 16 years in the NFL and helped them rank top 50 nationally in several special teams statistics.
Maguire finished his first year at K-State in 2024 as an offensive analyst.
Kardulis and Orloff each enter their fifth seasons at K-State after serving the previous four years as a defensive quality control coach and defensive analyst, respectively.
The Wildcats are coming off a 9-4 campaign. They begin the 2025 season against Iowa State on August 23 in Dublin, Ireland.
