Former K-State tight end Ben Sinnott makes huge catch on fake punt in NFL playoffs
Ben Sinnott helped the Washington Commanders pull off a memorable play against the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.
Sinnott, a former tight end for the Kansas State Wildcats, caught a pass from punter Tress Way for an unexpected 24-yard gain in the first quarter of a pivotal playoff game at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Commanders surprised the Eagles by dialing up a fake punt in their own territory and picked up a first down when Way lofted a pass across the middle to Sinnott. He was wide open on a go route.
Washington kept its drive going and crossed midfield thanks to the big play.
Sinnott caught five passes for 28 yards and a touchdown during the regular season as a rookie tight end in Washington.
He joined the NFL after a stellar career at K-State that saw him catch 82 passes for 1,138 yards and 10 touchdowns.
