Jacob Parrish shares farewell message for K-State fans as he declares for NFL Draft
Whenever Kansas State football coach Chris Klieman spoke publicly about Jacob Parrish this season, he made sure to call him “our best corner.”
Such praise was warranted as Parrish, a 5-foot-10 and 196-pound defensive back from Olathe North, piled up impressive stats as a junior for the Wildcats. But there will be no senior season for the standout defender in Manhattan.
Parrish plans to forgo his final year of college eligibility and declare early for the 2025 NFL Draft.
“I want to thank my family and loved ones for their constant love and support throughout my life,” Parrish shared on social media. “Your sacrifices have not gone unnoticed. To my coaches and teammates, thank you for everything you have done for me. I wouldn’t be in the position I am in right now if it wasn’t for you guys.
“To K-State Nation, I appreciate the support and love you guys have shown me ever since I stepped on campus. With that being said, I have decided to forgo my senior season and declare for the 2025 NFL Draft.”
Parrish is turning pro after three solid seasons with the Wildcats.
As a freshman, he got on the field immediately and played in all 14 games. As a sophomore, he defended nine passes and made four interceptions. This past season, he made 50 tackles while also breaking up seven passes and grabbing one interception.
He is ready to see if his talents are ready for the next level.
Parrish is not expected to play for K-State when it takes on Rutgers at the Rate Bowl later this month. Add him to a growing list of outgoing transfers who won’t be part of the postseason roster.
