It’s been a long time since the Kansas State football team has enjoyed a “home stand” at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

The Wildcats haven’t played consecutive home games in more than a calendar year. But that will change over the next two weeks when they host Arizona State and then Cincinnati in a pair of important Big 12 matchups.

Could home-field advantage help Chris Klieman’s team make a late push for a conference championship?

We will soon find out.

Here’s everything you need to know about Saturday’s game ...

Arizona State at No. 16 Kansas State

Kickoff: 6 p.m. Saturday

Where: Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan

TV/stream: ESPN

Radio: KCSP (610 AM) in Kansas City, KFH (1240 AM and 97.5 FM) in Wichita

The line: Kansas State by 7.5 with an O/U of 51.5.

K-State game prediction

This feels like a get-right game for Kansas State.

Some are down on the Wildcats after they lost as big favorites against Houston and then took a week off, but Klieman usually gets his team to respond in these situations.

K-State hasn’t lost consecutive games since 2021. And the Wildcats bounced back from their only other loss this season with a 42-20 demolition of Oklahoma State.

If the Wildcats continue that trend and play with maximum effort against Arizona State, I expect them to win this game by a comfortable margin.

Yes, the Sun Devils are off to a 7-2 start and Cam Skattebo is an excellent running back and this game is a battle for third place in the conference standings. But the Sun Devils aren’t as good as their record suggests.

Their wins have come against Wyoming (2-7), Mississippi State (2-8), Texas State (5-4), Kansas (3-6), Utah (4-5), Oklahoma State (3-7) and UCF (4-6). That’s not impressive. They also have a losing record (1-2) in Big 12 road games.

And their latest win against the Knights was aided by a touchdown on a blocked punt, a touchdown on an interception and two missed field goals. UCF out-gained Arizona State 406 yards to 260 and had a chance to win late despite all those mistakes.

I won’t be surprised if Arizona State’s good luck turns bad this week.

K-State is by far the best team Arizona State has faced this season. Bill Snyder Family Stadium will be rocking. And the Wildcats have a strong run defense that should be able to keep Skattebo in check.

The Sun Devils don’t throw the ball well enough to give K-State problems in the secondary.

Give me the Wildcats to win and to cover.

Kansas State 41, Arizona State 17

Last week’s prediction: K-State 30, Houston 13

Actual score: Houston 24, K-State 19

Season record: 6-3

Season record ATS: 5-4

Season record O/U: 5-4.
