Michael Bishop, Martin Gramatica part of Kansas State’s 2016 Hall of Fame class

MANHATTAN – Former Kansas State quarterback Michael Bishop will highlight a group of 10 one-time Wildcats in the school’s 2016 Hall of Fame class, K-State announced Wednesday.

The class will also include former baseball player Steve Anson, former kicker Martin Gramatica, former punter and current associate head coach/special teams coordinator Sean Snyder, former volleyball star Dawn Cady, former basketball player Max Moss, former women’s basketball standouts Nicole Ohlde and Kendra Wecker, former track-and-field athlete Connie Teaberry and Mitch Holthus, the current radio play-by-play man for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The group will be inducted into K-State’s Hall of Fame in January, with inductees receiving public recognition on Jan. 30 at halftime of a K-State basketball game against Mississippi at Bramlage Coliseum.

This group will be the 11th class to be inducted in the history of the K-State athletics. The first class was in 1990.

Bishop is likely to draw the biggest applause. He won 22 games in two seasons as a full-time starter, leading K-State to its first No. 1 national ranking as a senior in 1998. He went on to finish second in Heisman Trophy voting that year.
