Kansas State’s home football game vs. Arizona next season is moving to a Friday
Nothing will feel normal in September when the Kansas State football team hosts Arizona for a game at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
Both teams will be Big 12 rivals when the game is played, but the outcome won’t count in the league standings because it will be a rare nonconference game involving a pair of conference teams.
The game will also be played on a Friday night instead of a Saturday afternoon.
K-State has formally announced that it will play host to Arizona on Sept. 13 (a Friday). TV information and game time will be released at a later time, but kickoff will likely happen that evening with either FOX or ESPN broadcasting the action.
Fans have known this was a possibility for several weeks, as the Big 12 slotted Arizona at K-State for either Sept. 13 or Sept. 14, with an official date to be announced later. Turns out, Friday was the choice.
The Wildcats are no strangers to Friday games. They played a weekday game against Oklahoma State on the road last season. But it has been a while since they hosted a weekday game. Their last Friday home game came against North Dakota State in 2013.
That will change in 2024. Friday night lights are coming to Manhattan next football season.
