Watch the new Applebee’s NIL commercial that co-stars KU and K-State football players
Earlier this summer, K-State center Hayden Gillum and KU fullback/tight end Jared Casey put their college rivalry on hold to film an NIL commercial for Applebee’s.
The finished product was released on Monday. Give it a watch below.
Casey and Gillum grew up as friends in Western Kansas and were once football teammates at Plainville High School.
But they share more in common than that. They were both overlooked as recruits and had to join their favorite college teams as walk-ons. Casey ended up with the Jayhawks and worked his way into a key contributor in Lawrence. Gillum enrolled with the Wildcats and is now a key starter in Manhattan.
Their similar backgrounds and journeys to college football success made them appealing co-stars for a new ad with Applebee’s.
Gillum also appeared in a commercial for Cat Cans this summer.
Casey has twice previously starred in commercials with Applebee’s.
