Three Kansas State football players enter transfer portal after spring practice ends
Kansas State football coach Chris Klieman said there was a chance the Wildcats might lose a few players to the NCAA transfer portal in late April after they had time to decompress following the conclusion of spring practices.
Turns out, three K-State football players decided to make a move.
A trio of Wildcats recently placed their names in the national transfer database before their window closed on Sunday.
Jalen Klemm, a 6-foot-5 and 273-pound offensive lineman, was the first to exit K-State. The redshirt freshman from Mars, Pennsylvania, decided to look for a fresh start elsewhere after he failed to play in any games last season and was not part of the primary blocking rotation this spring.
Omar Daniels is also looking for a change of scenery. The 6-foot and 178-pound sophomore cornerback is on the move after he played in 11 games for the Wildcats. Daniels, who is originally from Moultrie, Georgia, made two tackles last season and appeared to be in the mix for an expanded role in 2023 following the departures of Ekow Boye-Doe and Julius Brents. But he will now look to continue his college football career elsewhere.
The other departing K-State football player is Gavin Forsha. The 6-foot-3 and 223-pound linebacker exits the Wildcats after just one season. He played in nine games last year as a reserve linebacker and a contributor on special teams. He finished with 10 tackles, including one sack. He joined the Wildcats last year out of junior college.
No further outgoing transfers are expected in the near future, as the spring transfer window has come to a close.
Those three departures could provide Klieman with an opportunity to recruit a few incoming transfers before the start of summer workouts.
