Felix Anudike-Uzomah leads large group of K-State football players on All-Big 12 teams
Felix Anudike-Uzomah has been rewarded for an impressive season with the Kansas State football team.
The junior defensive end helped the Wildcats win nine games and reach the Big 12 championship game against TCU by making 39 tackles, including 7 1/2 sacks. Those numbers stacked up so well with other players from across the conference that he has been named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year.
He led a group of 11 K-State football players who received honors from the league on Wednesday.
Cooper Beebe also earned individual honors from the league, as he was named Offensive Lineman of the Year.
Four players were named to the coaches’ first team: tight end Ben Sinnott (as a fullback), cornerback Julius Brents as well as Beebe and Anudike-Uzomah.
The following players made the second team: running back Deuce Vaughn, receiver Phillip Brooks (as a return specialist), safety Kobe Savage and punter Ty Zentner. Vaughn also received an honorable mention for Offensive Player of the Year.
Ekow Boye-Doe, Hayden Gillum, Daniel Green, Eli Huggins, K.T. Leveston and Austin Moore received honorable mention at their respective positions.
Two more players were honored by the conference. Backup running back D.J. Giddens received an honorable mention for Offensive Freshman of the Year, while Adrian Martinez was an honorable mention for Offensive Newcomer of the Year.
