Kansas State Wildcats beat out Mizzou, Ole Miss for basketball recruit Macaleab Rich
Jerome Tang has added another basketball prospect to Kansas State’s 2023 recruiting class.
Macaleab Rich, a 6-foot-7 small forward from East St. Louis in Illinois, verbally committed to the Wildcats on Monday at a ceremony inside his high school.
Rich chose K-State over Missouri and Mississippi after visiting all three campuses on official recruiting visits.
The Wildcats made a good impression on Rich when he was in Manhattan earlier this month and attended K-State’s football victory over Mizzou at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
He explained his college choice to On3 recruiting expert Joe Tipton.
“I chose Kansas State because I felt the most love I’ve felt in my life when I went on campus,” Rich said to On3. “I built a great bond with the coaches and players and it just felt like home. The style of play fits how I play.”
Rich is the third member of K-State’s 2023 recruiting class. He joins a pair of four-star guards in Darrin Ames and RJ Jones.
