About Green Bay (2-7):
The Phoenix are coming off a 64-55 loss at UMKC on Friday. They will try to bounce back on one day or rest against K-State. That won’t be an easy task for a team that is off to a slow start this season. Green Bay’s only Division I victory of the year came against Robert Morris. It lost its only game against a power conference opponent 72-34 against Wisconsin.

About Kansas State (5-3): The Wildcats are coming off a disappointing 64-63 home loss to Marquette when they didn’t have sophomore guard Nijel Pack and Selton Miguel was limited with a knee injury. Both should play against Green Bay. Expect Markquis Nowell to remain in the starting lineup after flirting with a triple-double against the Eagles. He had 11 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds in that game. It will be interesting to see what he has in store for an encore. This could be an opportunity for reserves like Logan Landers and Luke Kasubke to play extended minutes if the Wildcats can build a lead.

Prediction: This should be a relatively easy game for the Wildcats.

College basketball statistician Ken Pomeroy ranks Green Bay as the nation’s No. 317 team. K-State already owns four home victories against teams rated 300 or lower, and they came by an average margin of nearly 24 points.

Injuries are the only thing that might hold the Wildcats back in this matchup. Nijel Pack is still recovering from a concussion and is only expected to play limited minutes against the Phoenix. Selton Miguel is also nursing a knee injury that made it difficult to play at full speed in K-State’s last game against Marquette.

Still, the Wildcats have more than enough healthy players to win this game comfortably.

K-State 76, Green Bay 51.
