Kansas State Wildcats dismiss redshirt freshman wide receiver from football team

Kansas State football coach Chris Klieman announced Monday that redshirt freshman wide receiver Jaelon Travis has been dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules.

A team spokesperson said no further comment will be made on the matter.

Travis is a 6-foot and 195-pound receiver from Mansfield, Texas. He was a two-star recruit coming out of high school and chose the Wildcats over Texas Southern in 2019. He played in one game during his two seasons at K-State. His lone appearance came during a blowout victory over Kansas earlier this year.

He dressed for K-State’s most recent game against Baylor on Saturday and watched from the sideline.

Though he rarely played for the Wildcats, coaches and teammates both said he showed potential during preseason camp and had a chance to mature into a solid contributor.
