New kickoff time, TV info announced for Kansas State’s opener against Arkansas State
The Kansas State Wildcats will no longer play the Arkansas State Red Wolves in their first football game of the season as originally scheduled at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
The game has been moved to a new kickoff time and will be broadcast on a different TV network following the postponement of Baylor’s opening game against Louisiana Tech.
K-State and Arkansas State will fill that slot, which means their game has been moved to 11 a.m. on Saturday. The game will now be televised nationally on FOX. It was previously slated for FS1.
Wildcats fans must now prepare for a morning kickoff to the 2020 season on late notice. However, the new TV network will bring added exposure to the game.
Everything else about the game is expected to remain the same as originally planned. K-State will play in front of approximately 12,500 fans instead of the traditional 50,000 as the school has introduced new safety protocols that will allow purple supporters to socially distance throughout the game.
On top of the limited capacity, fans will be required to wear face coverings and no tailgating will be allowed before the game at K-State parking lots surrounding the stadium.
Arkansas State began its season over the weekend with a 37-24 road loss against Memphis.
K-State is making final preparations for its first game of the season. Those will have to change slightly now that the Wildcats will be kicking things off in the morning instead of the afternoon.
