Kansas State adds third football recruit of the week to 2021 recruiting class
A good week of recruiting keeps getting better for the Kansas State football team.
The Wildcats secured their third commitment in four days on Thursday when Devrin Weathers, a 6-foot-1 and 190-pound athlete from Webb City, Missouri pledged his future services to K-State coach Chris Klieman with an announcement on social media.
Weathers is a two-star recruit in the class of 2021, according to Rivals. He chose K-State over Eastern Illinois and Navy, the other two college football teams that offered him a scholarship.
Weathers is shown mostly playing running back on his high school highlight videos, but he can also be seen returning kicks and helping his team in other ways.
It will be interesting to see where he eventually lines up for the Wildcats, as he has the athleticism to play running back or possibly wide receiver on offense. He could also switch to defense and play virtually any position other than on the defensive line.
K-State offered Weathers a scholarship not long ago and he jumped at the opportunity to join K-State’s 2021 recruiting class. He followed in the footsteps of offensive lineman Austin Weiner and defensive end Brayden Wood, who both committed to the Wildcats on Monday.
With three new recruits on board, K-State’s 2021 class now sits at 10. The Wildcats currently rank 51st nationally in the Rivals national team database and seventh in the Big 12.
