Kansas State football adds big receiver Brenen Hawkins to 2021 recruiting class

The Kansas State football team has added some size and athleticism to its 2021 recruiting class that could eventually help the Wildcats’ passing attack.

Brenen Hawkins, a 6-foot-4 and 206-pound receiver from Godley, Texas, pledged his college football services to K-State on Tuesday.

The three-star recruit held scholarship offers from eight different schools and chose the Wildcats over Air Force, Kansas, Liberty, Texas Tech and Toledo.

His size could set him apart at the next level. At 6-4, he would match Chabastin Taylor as the tallest receiver currently listed on K-State’s roster.

Hawkin’s high school highlight tape is filled with him making over-the-shoulder catches and winning jump balls against smaller defenders. K-State will no doubt look to utilize those skills after he arrives on campus.

His commitment gives K-State a bit of momentum on the recruiting trail, as he is the second new pledge to join the Wildcats’ 2021 recruiting class over the past week.

R.J. Garcia, a receiver from Tampa, Florida, joined up on Friday.

K-State’s 2021 recruiting class now boasts seven players.
