About Bradley (4-2): The Braves came to Fort Myers on a four-game winning streak, but they lost that momentum during a 78-51 loss against Northwestern on Monday. The Wildcats dominated Bradly in every way. But they will look to bounce back in the third-place game of this tournament against K-State behind senior forward Koch Bar, who nearly averages a double-double, and leading scorer Darrell Brown. The Braves are capable of beating name opponents. They made it to the NCAA Tournament last season.
About Kansas State (4-1): The Wildcats suffered their first loss of the season on Monday against Pittsburgh thanks in large part to foul trouble and abysmal free-throw shooting. They will look to get back to their winning ways against Bradley on Wednesday. That might not be easy. Without injured forward Montavious Murphy, K-State is limited in the frontcourt. The Wildcats will rely on Antonio Gordon, Makol Mawien and Levi Stockard inside. This is an important game for Bruce Weber’s team. A pair of early losses would seriously hinder its NCAA Tournament resume.
Prediction: K-State should bounce back with a solid effort against Bradley. The Braves were no match for Northwestern on Monday, and K-State should also be able to win rather comfortably. Foul trouble and poor free-throw shooting shouldn’t be critical issues against Bradley.
K-State 71, Bradley 63.
