K-State football adds Texas running back Chris Vaughn to 2020 recruiting class

The Kansas State football team won a recruiting battle with Arkansas and Missouri for 2020 running back Chris Vaughn on Tuesday.

Vaughn, a 5-foot-7 playmaker from Round Rock, Texas, announced his pledge to the Wildcats on social media.

“I am blessed to say that I will be continuing both my educational and athletic career at Kansas State University,” Vaughn wrote in a Twitter post.

Vaughn is a three-star recruit, according to Rivals. He chose K-State over Arkansas, Missouri, Air Force, Army and South Florida.

He rushed for 1,383 yards as a junior at Cedar Ridge High School.

His commitment comes as welcome news for the Wildcats after they missed on a pair high-profile recruits from the Sunflower State over the weekend.

Vaughn is the third member of K-State’s 2020 recruiting class, joining Olathe East defensive end Nate Matlack and Huntington Beach, Calif. tight end Christian Moore.
