Kansas State women add Wamego’s Lanie Page to basketball roster
MANHATTAN – Lanie Page will join her older sister, Kaylee, on the Kansas State women’s basketball team next season.
Lanie Page, a two-time Eagle All-State player from Wamego, is the No. 82-ranked prospect in the 2015 recruiting class, according to ESPN. She helped Wamego High win a 4A championship in 2013 and finish runner-up in 2014, while averaging 16.3 points and 6.3 rebounds.
Kaylee Page transferred to K-State midway through last season after beginning her college career at Nebraska. ESPN ranked her as the No. 42 prospect in the 2014 recruiting class. She was named Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior, while averaging 18.9 points and 8.3 rebounds. She will be eligible to play for K-State during the spring semester next season, after sitting out a year in accordance with NCAA transfer rules.
Both sisters are 6-foot-2 forwards.
Together, they give Mittie a talented nucleus of young talent to build on as he enters his second season at K-State. The Page sisters join K-State’s fall signing class along with guard Kayla Goth (DeForest, Wisconsin), guard Anna Hammaker (Knoxville, Tennessee) and center Cheyenne Hooper (Knoxville, Tennessee).
