Mark your calendars Kansas State basketball fans.

The Wildcats will kickoff the start of hoops season with a party on the hardwood this October.

K-State is calling the event Madness in Manhattan and it will take place on Oct. 12 at Bramlage Coliseum, according to a post on the athletic department’s Twitter account. The Friday night event should pair nicely with the Wildcats football game against Oklahoma State the following day at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

Both the women’s and men’s basketball teams will take part in the festivities. The school on Friday did not announce any further details.

K-State hasn’t hosted a basketball kickoff event since 2013, but this seems like a good year to bring back a Midnight Madness type event.

The Wildcats return all five starters from a team that won 25 games and advanced to the Elite Eight last season. Anticipation is already building toward the upcoming season.
