The Big 12 announced its preseason all-conference team on Wednesday, and the Sunflower State was well represented.
Kansas State and Kansas both placed two players on the team, while Oklahoma offensive lineman Ben Powers, a Wichita native, also made the 29-man squad.
Kendall Adams, a senior defensive back, and Dalton Risner, a senior offensive lineman, led the way for K-State.
Adams is coming off an injury-shortened season in which he made 63 tackles and three interceptions. He is expected to lead the Wildcats' secondary this season along with cornerback Duke Shelley.
Risner, a three-year starter, is one of the nation's top right tackles. He is expected to contend for All-America honors in his final year.
KU seniors Joe Dineen Jr. and Daniel Wise earned preseason honors for the Jayhawks. They are the first pair of KU players to make the preseason team since Dezmon Briscoe and Darrell Stuckey in 2009.
A Lawrence native, Dineen led the Big 12 in tackles (137) and tackles for loss (25) at linebacker last season. Wise, a defensive lineman, ad 16 tackles for loss and seven sacks last year.
Powers, an Oklahoma senior, played for Kapaun and then Butler Community College before starring for the Sooners.
The Big 12's preseason individual awards went to West Virginia quarterback Will Grier (Offensive Player of the Year), TCU defensive end Ben Banogu (Defensive Player of the Year) and Oklahoma defensive back Brendan Radley-Hiles (Newcomer of the Year).
The Big 12 Preseason Team was selected by media who regularly cover the conference.
