The Lowdown: K-State has won four of its past five games and surged into second place of the Big 12 standings. Now, it will try to keep that hot streak going against a SEC opponent. Georgia started 11-3, but has struggled since. The Bulldogs have lost four of their past five. Both teams are thought to be on the NCAA Tournament bubble, at the moment, and could use a nonconference victory.
K-State player to watch: Makol Mawien. K-State’s starting center has been playing better of late, but is still foul-prone against other big men. He will need to avoid foul trouble against Georgia’s tall front line.
Georgia player to watch: Yante Maten. The senior forward is averaging 19.9 points and 9.4 rebounds. He is one of the best big men K-State will face all season.
Prediction
Kansas State 82, Georgia 74. The Bulldogs could pose some problems for the Wildcats inside, but they don’t have the firepower to win this one on the road. Georgia hasn’t scored 80 points in a month. K-State is averaging 78.25 points in Big 12 games.
