Bolden breaks wrist
Brandon Bolden will likely miss the remainder of the season with a broken left wrist.
The sophomore forward fell hard to the floor late in the first half, injuring his wrist and his face. He spit blood as coaches and trainers wrapped an air splint around his left arm and helped him to the locker room.
K-State basketball coach Bruce Weber said the initial diagnose on the injury was a broken wrist, but he would not be sure until further tests were completed. The injury comes at a tough time for Bolden. Though he has been a reserve all season, he was starting to crack the rotation, seeing playing time against West Virginia and Oklahoma.
Last second snafu
Oklahoma did not come close to tying the game in the final 3.4 seconds. The Sooners inbounded the ball and raced up court in an attempt to get off a potential game-tying three, but Jevon Thomas fouled Isaiah Cousins at midcourt before he could.
The goal from there was for Cousins to make the first of two free-throw attempts and intentionally miss the second in hopes of securing a rebound and putting in a tying layup. But he missed the first free throw and had to intentionally miss the second in such a way that Oklahoma players could rebound it and shoot a three in less than one second. His attempt was way off, hitting the bottom of the net.
