K-State women’s basketball game in Mexico canceled

The second day of the Hardwood Tournament of Hope women’s basketball event in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, was canceled Wednesday because of a facilities conflict at the Puerto Vallarta Convention Center, and tournament officials were searching for a venue to play Thursday’s games.

Kansas State was scheduled to play Santa Clara on Wednesday, and is scheduled to play LSU on Thursday.

Kansas 90, Iona 49 — The Jayhawks held overmatched Iona to 12 first-half points in a game that was never close.

Asia Boyd scored 19 points and hit four three-point shots for KU. Terriell Bradley came off the bench and hit all five three-pointers she attempted and finished with 16 points.

KU shot 54.4. percent from the field (31 of 57) and hit 56.5 percent of its three-pointers (13 of 23). The Jayhawks held Iona to 27.6 percent (16 of 58).
