Kansas Sports Hall’s summer lecture series begins with look at state’s top sports venues

The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame’s summer lecture series begins Wednesday with a look at “Athletic Cathedrals of Kansas.”

The series is free to the public. Three more lectures are planned: June 10, Title IX and Kansas female athletes; July 28, Kansas City Monarchs; and Aug. 5, forgotten Jayhawk John McLendon, coach and civil rights pioneer.

Wednesday’s program begins at 4 p.m. at the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame, located in the Wichita Boathouse at 515 S. Wichita Street. Call 316-262-2038 for information.
