Top seeds alive at Wichita Open

The top two seeds at the Wichita Tennis Open advanced to the semifinals with straight-set victories on Friday at the Coleman Tennis Complex.

No. 1 seed Michael Mmoh beat Govind Nanda 6-1, 6-4, and No. 2 Christian Harrison beat Or Ram-Harel 6-2, 6-1.

Luke Bambridge and Danny O’Hare won the doubles championship Friday, beating Nathan Ponwith and John Harrison Richmond 6-0, 6-3.

Mmoh’s semifinal opponent Saturday will be Emil Reinberg, 20, who beat Isaiah Strode in three sets Friday.

Harrison, 23, won last week’s Futures event in Tulsa. He will meet Naoki Nakagawa in the semifinals. The sixth-seeded Nakagawa, a 20-year-old from Japan, beat No. 3 seed Ryan Shane in three sets Friday.
