John Blazek becomes Wild GM

Former Maize South principal John Blazek was introduced as the Wild indoor football team's general manager this morning at Hartman Arena. Team owner Wink Hartman made the announcement.

Blazek, 56, replaces Mike McCoy, who did not receive a new contract from the team.

A radio analyst for the team last season, Blazek is a former Wichita State football player and a longtime college basketball official. He abruptly took early retirement from the Maize school district in December, citing physical exhaustion.
