Opinion Line (Sept. 5)

One afternoon last week in west Wichita, the sun was shining, and at the same time it was also raining. I’m sure if Gov. Sam Brownback would have been there, he would have been very confused.


Why are college graduates leaving Kansas? Why would young educated people remain in a state that makes legislative war on economic sensibility, hospitals, Medicare, education and voting rights and tries to codify into law beliefs that are discriminatory?


Someone commented they were more concerned with seeing the presidential candidates’ health records than their tax returns. Why either/or? I want to know about both their health and their taxes.


Hillary Clinton will lose the election because millions of voters like myself quit voting years ago. The corruption in Washington, D.C., has to stop. We are going to vote for Trump because he will get rid of a bunch of the dirty rats.


It is time for those who accuse Clinton of wrongdoing to prove what she is guilty of or hold their tongues.


Every American citizen should see the movie “Hillary’s America” then decide for whom they will vote.


Trump “softened” his immigration stand because he doesn’t want to have to deport his wife.


Columnist Leonard Pitts just can’t take his blinders off when it comes to what ails America. Even though left-wing policy has completely ruined our society by creating a permanent welfare state, everything is the conservatives’ fault?


Why do conservatives complain about the United States not acting against ISIS, Russia in Crimea, Libya and more involvement in the Middle East but applaud the fact Donald Trump was against the war in Iraq?


The laws that allow presidents to reduce prison sentences and pardon some criminals need to be changed. Why even have courts and judges if the president can override decisions.


“Political correctness” is just another name for politeness. As such, it should be expected but not required.


I want to thank all the companies for their drug policies. Now I work with a bunch of hungover drunks.
