Huelskamp gives ‘Big First’ voters too little credit

In a Washington Post commentary headlined “I lost my seat in Congress because I stood up to Washington elites,” Rep. Tim Huelskamp, R-Fowler/Hutchinson, accused special-interest groups of buying his primary loss last week to Roger Marshall. But Huelskamp gives the 1st Congressional District’s Republican voters too little credit. And by being so ungracious in defeat, Huelskamp has shown the personality traits that made him impossible to work with and therefore ineffective in Congress. – Rhonda Holman
