Opinion Line (Aug. 5)

Kansans spoke loud and clear at the voting booth. If you are an ultraconservative, Brownback-loving politician, your services are no longer needed in our state. Sedgwick County voters also made clear that we want judges with high moral standards.

Judging by some who won or, more precisely, didn’t win the primary this week, it seems many people are easily herded.

Ah, elections in Kansas, where we all get to choose which pro-life conservative represents us in government.

“Give me, give me, give me,” all the special-interest groups holler. So the ill-informed vote away more of your hard-earned dollar.

County Commission meetings just won’t be the same without Karl Peterjohn. And that’s a good thing.

Commissioners Jim Howell and Richard Ranzau didn’t want to listen to the public during last year’s budget hearings. Can you hear us now?

Congratulations, Sedgwick County District 3 voters. You may have just given away our County Commission to the city and chamber of commerce. If so, we’ll pay dearly.

When the Zika riots really get rolling, I’m certain Madam President’s response will be to suspend the Constitution and start collecting the newly banned firearms.

By telling his supporters that the election is rigged, Donald Trump is already making excuses for his inevitable crushing defeat.

He has called our military a “disaster.” He has insulted the family of a fallen soldier because of their religion. This man is not a patriot. Does he have to rip up and stomp on an American flag to make you supporters see that?

If you’re going to pander for money with a cardboard sign saying you’re homeless, you’d better not look freshly showered and be wearing a nice white shirt.

We babysat our great-grandson recently. He dirtied two diapers. We took them to our Wal-Mart parking lot for recycling, as it seems like that’s where dirty diapers go.
