American police departments must have all military surplus equipment taken away, and the use of SWAT teams must be re-examined and severely restricted. A good start is ending the idiotic “war on drugs,” which has provided the basis for all manner of unconstitutional police actions.
It appears anyone who says he doesn’t have a felony conviction can legally buy a handgun. Explain why I should feel safer if these people can legally carry that gun concealed somewhere somehow, with no training required. Perhaps legislators could find something more constructive to debate. Or maybe not.
Too many people are putting all the blame for the Kansas economic train wreck on Gov. Sam Brownback. Surely some of the blame goes to the tea party, too.
Most interesting comment I’ve heard lately: “Our allies don’t trust us and our enemies don’t fear us.” That spells big time trouble.
President Obama has a number of firsts for his legacy. Now he can add one more – refusing to see unfortunate problems and situations making him the first Pollyanna to occupy the White House. All “good news and happy thoughts.”
People keep calling the recession Obama’s fault. I guess remembering when the recession started is too difficult for Republicans. 2008 seems so long ago. Who was the president then?
Only a Republican could turn a plan to help the middle class into an evil plot.
The king of Jordan hanged two Muslim terrorists after ISIS set a Jordanian pilot on fire. Obama says “you better not cross this red line” to our enemies, and then does nothing. When is he going to get tough on these Muslim terrorists? I think never.
Sounds like Jordan should be running Guantanamo. At least King Abdullah has the guts Obama lacks to make the tough but just response needed to actually fight the problem.
In case all you warmongers have forgotten, the last time war was declared by the Congress of the USA was in 1941.
Another giant step backward. The new majority on the Sedgwick County Commission has voted that our health department should no longer work to prevent disease and promote wellness, and instead focus on disaster preparedness. Makes no sense.
Does it seem like all your utility bills are for 34 or 35 days each? What’s up?
The NFL should have changed the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl introduction music to Bob Kuban’s 1960s classic hit, “The Cheater.”
From this time forward, no matter what they win, the Patriots will forever be losers.
It looks like I’m going to have to revert back to my old alarm clock unless someone out there can tell me where I can find a country music station on my radio.
