Gov. Sam Brownback gutted the Kansas Arts Commission in 2011. He said private funds should pay for the arts. If that’s the case, he needs to gut the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism. Let the hunters, campers and tourists fund it all. Fair is fair.

I’m having a difficult time believing the Republicans believe in the sanctity of life as long as they refuse to deal with the gun issue in this country. A life is a life before or after birth. They are using the abortion issue to get votes.

There is no “easy” access to guns for the law-abiding citizen. You have to answer numerous questions. You have to submit to a background check. You can be delayed for further investigation. You can be denied. The only people this rigmarole doesn’t affect are criminals.

Speaking on guns, liberals say, “If only our forefathers knew....” The same applies to career politicians and debt limits.

I doubt I’m the only one who realizes the only thing we heard out of the DNC was anti-Trump diatribe, and absolutely nothing about how they are going to stop the destruction of the USA that has especially accelerated the past eight years.

I’d like to see Donald Trump’s tax return to see how much business he does with Russia. Or how much of his spending goes to other countries instead of making America great.

Hey, Donald – you better keep to the NFL game nights for the debates. You want as few people as possible to see Hillary eat your lunch.

Trump doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut. My wife says the same about me, but I’m not running for president.

The choice is simple. If you think our country is in good shape and you like Obama’s policies, you will vote for Hillary. If you are worried about the economy, our national security and want a change to break the crony corruption in Washington, you will vote for Trump.

If a bully and cheater (Trump) is elected to be our next president, it will provide proof that we have become a nation of bullies and cheaters.

If AARP represents the elderly, how come it sends out so many junk-mail pieces that we hate receiving?

I tried to offer a gift card to a police officer the other day in appreciation of their service and was declined. It this against the law?
