Opinion Line Extra (Aug. 3)
I won’t vote for Trump because I don’t believe he’ll do what he promises, and I’m not sure what will happen. I can’t vote for Clinton because I believe she’ll do what she promises, and that scares the heck out of me.
The Democrats’ convention started off on the left foot, and then another left foot.
First Hillary Clinton. Then Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Hmm – Democrat women sure seem to have a problem understanding this e-mail thing.
My impression is that Donald Trump is a smoke-and-mirror RINO.
Donald Trump now finds himself a contestant in the ultimate reality contest, one he will not win. He won’t be remembered for “You’re fired.” No, he’ll be remembered for “You’re not hired.”
With respect I say to Khizr Kahn and his comment that Donald Trump has a “black soul”: Sir, Donald Trump has no soul.
The Khizr and Ghazala Khan story, about their son who died in Iraq, brought tears to my eyes. For the Republican nominee it was a completely different reaction.
What you didn’t hear at the Republican convention was lies. What you did hear is a message of hope. Hope that makes you feel like there’s a chance that America can become great again. So, of course, Hillary found that odd.
So Hillary Clinton wants to be our next president? Will the way she handled the embassy situation in Benghazi reflect upon how she will act if the U.S. is attacked in war? She told her daughter one thing about the attack and the American public another for what caused it.
I am a registered Republican. Please use the correct name: “Americans for Prosperity for the Rich.” Also include the hidden motto of the Republican Party: “The rich get richer.”
Gun-control measures go back to the 1800s, when Democrats made it illegal for blacks to arm themselves so as to be defenseless against the KKK. The party of slavery continues those efforts, only it wants us all disarmed to be defenseless against the state.
To the idiot who scolded USD 259 teachers who do not live in Wichita (Aug. 1 Opinion Line): Consider yourself extremely fortunate that certified teachers are still available and willing to drive into your city to fill those positions.
We are deferring highway projects, maintenance at universities and payments to the state pension fund, etc. Isn’t that what Detroit did right before it went bankrupt?
